What we can work on

Support for the work.
Room for the thinker.

Explore the approach
01 / READING

Go beyond the first answer.

Read for meaning, compare viewpoints, and explain an idea with details from the text. Vocabulary grows through the reading and the discussion around it.

Reading & reasoning
02 / WRITING

Give an idea a clear direction.

Work from notes, an assignment, or a draft. Choose a focus, develop evidence, and revise with a reason for each change—while keeping the learner’s voice.

Writing & revision
03 / LANGUAGE

Use the language you’re learning.

Connect grammar and vocabulary to reading, speaking, and original work. ELA and English-language support can address a specific gap or extend a learner’s skills.

Language in context

Personal teaching, with a plan

A lesson should lead somewhere.

Brandon creates all lesson materials himself. The plan gives the work direction, then changes as the learner’s responses show what is useful next.

After every lesson, you receive specific written follow-up on the work, the practice that would help, and the next step.

Meet your instructor

Begin with real work.

A reading, a draft, schoolwork, or a conversation helps identify what the learner can do and where support is needed.

Choose a purposeful task.

Reading, vocabulary, discussion, and writing connect around a clear learning goal.

Use it in something new.

The learner explains, writes, revises, or presents—using the skill for a reason.

Make the next step clear.

Specific feedback helps the learner and family understand what to practise and why.

A small look inside

More than finding
the right answer.

A reading task can become a conversation about evidence, then a short explanation in the learner’s own words.

This example is a demonstration of the teaching approach. The text and task are illustrative, not a student result or a fixed lesson.

See how skills connect

Sample learning task / Reading to reasoning

After the town planted trees around the playground, students used it more often at lunchtime. Some said the shade made it easier to stay outside.

Which claim stays closest to the evidence?

The next task: explain the connection, using a detail from the passage.

A few practical questions

Before your first lesson.

Who are the lessons for?

The current online booking route is for learners aged 13 and up. A parent or guardian makes and authorises a teen’s booking. Parents of learners under 13 should contact Brandon first to discuss suitability and the required arrangements.

Is this ELA tutoring or English-language support?

Both can be part of the work. Brandon teaches reading, writing, vocabulary, and critical thinking, as well as ESL/EFL. The starting point is the learner’s current work and goals.

What should we bring?

A recent assignment, reading, draft, or question is useful. For academic or admissions writing, bring the prompt, any relevant criteria, your draft or notes, and the deadline.

Can we book a regular weekly time?

The calendar supports recurring series. Review each date before adding the lessons to your cart; only available times can be reserved. Dates and times are shown in the timezone you choose.

What if there are no suitable times?

Try another starting date or email Brandon with your general availability. The calendar shows the times he has opened; all other time stays unavailable.

How do rescheduling and refunds work?

Rescheduling is available at least 12 hours before the lesson. Standard refund requests must be made within 72 hours of payment and at least three hours before the affected lesson. Both limits apply. Read the booking terms for the full policy and your applicable rights.
